Giving Tree

Between now and Friday, December 18th, 2020, Radio Stations “Gold Country” WOBL 1320AM/107.7FM and “Kool Kat Oldies” WDLW 1380AM/98.9FM invite you to help us decorate our annual “Giving Tree” to help others in our own community.

This year, we will be asking for assistance in filling care boxes for the residents of Genesis House, the only domestic violence shelter in Lorain County, that provides shelter, information, and support to men, women and children of all ages who are fleeing domestic violence, and they provide all basic needs during a person’s stay at the shelter.

There are Four easy ways that you can help us. One…we are asking for clear plastic shoebox size containers (no larger than the 20-quart size), filled with the much needed items from the wish list below. Two…you can donate the plastic boxes only. Three…you can donate the items only from wish list below. And Four…should you wish to donate cash, the staff at WOBL & WDLW will purchase the items and fill empty boxes on your behalf.

The Wish List of items are as follows…for Adults: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, fingernail clippers, nail polish, earbuds, Chapstick, lotion, lip gloss, make-up, hair accessories, dental floss, planners, journals, combs and brushes. For Children: toothbrushes, toothpaste, crayons, markers, coloring books, Legos, Play-doh, dolls, socks, balls, toy cars, Uno or other card games, gloves, hats, hair accessories and earbuds.

Attention Ladies…if you happen to have any new or gently used purses that you no longer use, we will gladly take those as well. Many of the ladies at Genesis House have not had a “new” purse in years and this will bring a smile to their face.

If you would like to donate to our Giving Tree this year, “Care Boxes for Genesis House”, you can drop your donations off at our studios at 45624 U.S. Route 20 in Oberlin now through Friday, December 18th, 2020.
